LEIF NILSSON

Born Goteborg, Sweden, 1937.
As a child had lessons in landscape from his father, a painter, then continued with studies in Goteborg and became a full-time painter by 18. Early interest in the work of Cobra Group, particularly by Asger Jorn.

First one-man exhibition at the age of 22, after which he left Seden to live abroad; first in Ibiza, Spain, 1960-65, then Lindos on the island of Rhodes, Greece, 1965-68. During this period he returned spasmodically to Sweden.
1969 immigrated to Australia with his Australian wife, Joanne.
